BERKELEY, California – On April 6th, the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California delivered a 9 page letter to the chancellor, Robert Birgeneau, and the chair of the Academic Senate, Christopher Kutz. The letter rebukes the administration of UC Berkeley for how it’s handled the judicial case for two students arrested the night of the December 11th demonstration. It cites legal precedences in regard to the lack of due process this case has seen and urges the campus leadership to change its policies and overturn judicial action taken thus far to ensure due process. A copy of the letter is available here.
